ROUND THE ISLAND RACE
Congratulations to the three Association entries for taking part in the 2021 Race around the Isle of Wight, organised by the Island Sailing Club. Line honours went to Guy Warner in RUBY STAR (Victoria 34) but he was beaten on corrected time by Andrew Gleadle in PANACHE (Frances 26) and David Wood in AMORELLE (Frances 26). PANACHE and AMORELLE were separated by just 12 minutes, on corrected time, after nine hours racing. Well done to the skippers and crews. Full details are on the Round the Island website.

Congratulations to Andy Gleadle - a great performance. It was all massive fun as the weather turned out quite well. We were a cockpit only team so did not fly either of my 2 spinnakers but was happy to get round in about 10 hours in a predominantly light winds race.

Thank you for the congratulations. It was a close race for the 3 Victoria yachts entered and a great days sailing. Like you, I didn't get my cruising chute out of it's bag and stayed with white sails all the way round. Still deciding if I'm doing it again next year. (sorry for the delayed response but I've been suffering from IT issues on 2 computers!)
