Polish or paint?
By mid December, the marina of Vila do Porto on Santa Maria was heavily damaged by big waves. Most of the pontoons broke off, so did the one Blue Alligator, my Victoria 34, was moored on, leaving some deep scratches on the the blue hull.
I wonder if I still can polish the damage or if I have to paint the hull. Any suggestions is welcome.

Re: Polish or paint?
Hi,
If I were you I would try to polish.
If the scratches are very deep but not showing any fiberglass I would try to put some gelcoat with color to match and then polish.
As the area is not big I would not go for paint option.

Re: Polish or paint?
I basically agree with Hugo, but I would first paint the damaged area, and then polish out the brush strokes. That should make the damage largely invisible, and can be done with the boat in the water, thus minimising the cost. Next haul out you could re assess your options.

Hi Ronald.
Really sorry to hear this news.
I agree with Hugo and Bill's recommendations.
Hopefully, you will get 'Blue Alligator' sorted soon.
Kind regards,
Charlie.
