Victoria 38 double ended main sheet arrangement.

Our recently acquired Victoria 38 (Meg) has a single ended main sheet system that terminates at a jammer/winch by the companion way. As such it is not possible to adjust the main sheet from the helm. Since we invariably sail with just the two of us, this is not always  safe or convenient. I read in a 1997 yachting Monthly review of the Vic 38, that the test boat had an double ended mainsheet that could be adjusted either at the companion way winch or at a secondary winch by the helm. I can see how you would get two tails to either side of the gooseneck and the mast base, but can’t figure out how to get the second tail back to the aft secondary winch without obstructing the side deck on one side (as I think a typical German mainsheet system might do). So I was hoping that the association’s Vic 38 owners that have this arrangement might be able to help me out. A description or better still, a photo, would be hugely appreciated. In fact any thoughts from the membership about this in general would be really welcome!
Regards
Nick
