Fresh Water System Pump
On Pippin (F34PH) I have a Shurflo UP084 12v 5 amp 30 psi 2 outlet pump in my freshwater system.
The internet suggests that it is no longer in production.
Does anyone know -
a. if this was an original fitting - I suspect so. and
b. if you had one and have replaced it, what with?
Many thanks

Re: Fresh Water System Pump
Replying to my own message for anyone considering the same.
My freshwater pump turned out to be in its death throes and was replaced by a Jabsco 12v pump, 5 amp, 25 psi (lower) but higher flow rate. There is also a small Jabsco accumulator in the system. The result is much improved performance and a happy skipper.

Re: Fresh Water System Pump
John,
I had the same problem on ALBERTINE and I believe I fitted the same equipment with the same good results. However, she is now in new ownership and I was unable to check the details. I look forward to the reports of your exploits this year as we restrict ourselves to the range of out Landau 20 picnic boat and the Solent area.
Jon.

Re: Fresh Water System Pump
Good to get your message Jon and I hope all is well with you both,
we have been blessed with easier lock down conditions here in the Guernsey Bailiwick, so I managed around 350 miles in Pippin with perhaps a dozen nights aboard in 2020. This year Pippin has only been in the water since March post engine replacement and other things, but we've still managed to get out and about putting enough hours on the engine for its first service.
Now we are ready for our 2021 adventure, whatever that turns out to be!
Best wishes

I did the same thing with an accumulator on Blue Opal, mostly to solve pump hammer, and have never regretted it.
