Victoria 30 Locomotion

I am the relatively new and I believe the third owner of the Victoria 30 Locomotion(formerly Samphire from Bangor Northern Ireland). I am currently attempting to restore her to the condition in which she was launched,in 1986.
So far she has been scrubbed to death and had her rigging, loo, through hull fittings, interior upholstery and woodwork restored or replaced.
Next on the list is a new spray hood, sail cover and mainsail. Finally I plan to replace her windows and possibly hatches.
Her engine has been well loved over the years and she has had new batteries in the past couple of years.
An AIS transponder and fresh DSC VHF will be the last major items.
She is currently in DunLaoghaire but is heading next to the Isle of Man.
I plan to tootle up and down between Brittany and the west of Scotland and look forward to meeting other Victoria owners.

Re: Victoria 30 Locomotion

Jonathan,
I suspect that the Solent might be a little to far East in your passage making.  However if you are heading home in early September we would love to meet you at our Rally on the Bealieu River the details of which you will find on the Association Website.  Locomotion might also enjoy returning to the river of her birth and first launch at Warsash.
Jon.

Hi Jonathan, Im hoping/planning to visit Peel for a few days around the first few weeks of July. It would be good to meet up if you are still there?

Hi Keith I look forward to that. I live in Port Erin so email me a little in advance and hopefully if the dates collide we can hook up. jonathan@mills.net

Re: Victoria 30 Locomotion

Nice drone shot smile I've contemplated getting a drone just to get nice shots of Blue Opal under sail, but the wind she really likes is usually strong enough to make take-off and landing a complete nightmare (especially with Dublin Bay's habit of 2 conflicting seas).

Re: Victoria 30 Locomotion

One of my crewmen was the drone owner. It was very tricky to get it back. Drones are designed not to come too close and they do it well. Very exciting.
