London Boat Show Dinner 2008

What could be more enjoyable than to sit down with friends for a meal after a long day at the Boat Show?

This year eight of us decided to visit the 'Show on Tuesday, 15th January and to continue to the Tai Pan Chinese Restaurant in Wapping, right opposite Limehouse Station on the Docklands Light Railway.

This year Simon Fraser and Janet Gayle were unable to join us, as they had just completed an Atlantic crossing in 'Simoon III of London' and were in Barbados! Normally, Simon books the restaurant and ensures a succession of fine dishes are placed before us!

John Sadler, Dick Meloy, John Cade and Brian Smith

Once we each had a drink to hand, Brian, our Chairman, proposed a toast to Simon and Janet in their absence.

Then it was down to the serious business of tackling the plentiful supplies of food and drink and re-learning the art of using chop sticks.

Maybe we will have you join us next year. You would not regret it.

Dawn Smith, John Tyer and Jenny Cosker

John Sadler, again
