Chris Coggins owns and sails 'Barbican 3', which is a rather special cutter-rigged Frances 26. Chris lives in Norfolk and berths 'Barbican 3' in Lowestoft Haven Marina.             These three pictures were taken early in May 2008 during what appears to have been a visit to the River Orwell.

 

Historic note:

Barbican 3 was originally built for Bernard Hayman, ex-editor of Yachting World.  It was through Bernard Hayman that Peter Gregory, Managing Director of Victoria Marine, contacted Chuck Paine in the United States and so brought the Frances back to this country.     The photograph shown here dates from many years ago and was published in various magazines.
