'Boreas' is a sloop-rigged Frances 26 that was built in 1988.
'Boreas' used to be based in the Netherlands near Amsterdam but her new owner, Rui Ágoas has moved her to warmer climes and she is now based on the Algarve Coast of Portugal at Vila Real, St. Antonio.

'Boreas' has been enjoying some summer sailing up the River Guadiana to Alcoutim.
The Guadiana river is one of the longest streams of the Iberian Peninsula, flowing generally westward through south-central Spain and south-eastern Portugal to the Atlantic Ocean. It crosses the Toledo mountains, forms parts of the Spanish-Portuguese frontier, and flows through Portugal to Vila Real de Sainto Antonio on the Gulf of Cádiz.
The River Guadiana is navigable for about 20nm to Alcoutim.
Rui and his crew are clearly enjoying some excellent sailing aboard 'Boreas'.

'Boreas' is pictured safely alongside the pontoon at Alcoutim and is looking very smart in the sunshine.
