New teak deck
I finally had to replace the teak deck on Tui. After 27 years it still looked good but was wearing right through to the GRP in places on the foredeck. A lot of research led me to Barry at TLC in North Wales. Tom Cunliffe had his deck replaced there and recommended him highly. last summer I sailed round and lifted out in Dickies, Bangor. Tui went into a shed while Barry stripped off the old teak and replaced it. The result is fabulous, and Barry was excellent, complete attention to detail. The price was about a third below what I was quoted on the South Coast. I also have found the sailing community around the Menai Straits very friendly and helpful. So altogether a positive experience and Tui looks splendid.
