Has anyone had experience in fitting attachments for a Jordan Series Drogue to a Victoria 30? As far as I can see, there are two options -- through-bolted on top of the caprail, about 2 metres from the stern, or through-bolted on the hull just beneath the cap rail.
Also planning to fit electric windlass. Would I be correct in assuming there is a "king plank" on the foredeck that would take the load?
Finally, can anyone tell me the length of the vane for an Airies gear? The one that came with the boat is broken in half, with a section missing.
When I joined the association I was sent a folder with a lot of technical specs on the Victoria 30 which includes mention of a kingplank on the foredeck. I can dig out the dimensions if you want. That is where my manual anchor windlass is mounted which seems to be fairly universal on the Vics I have seen.
I'd be interested to hear how you get on with the series drogue if you ever use it in earnest. I have gone for a para anchor as I would prefer to be bow to weather in a storm, but have not had to use it yet. Heaving to under trisail only has been sufficient in a gale. Colin
Colin, what make and model is your manual windlass Please? Bennie
Hi Brenda, I'll check at the weekend. I have the manual for it on board. C
Hi Brenda, its a Simpson Lawrence Anchorman (manual). I have the manual as a pdf but I don't see a way to send attachments on here. If you want it send me your email.
