REFIDGERATION UNIT V34

Has anyone retro fitted a refridgeration unit into a V34 cool box? If so, could you advise me?

Plan A is to fit a unit capable of chilling a 130l fridge in the port cockpit locker and pass the coolant pipe through the bulkhead into the galley area and fridge.

One factor I have no data on is the amount of insulation fitted around the V34 cool box.

Many thanks

Re: REFIDGERATION UNIT V34

Don,
Several years ago we had a new unit fitted for our integral cool box and placed under the seat in the pilot house of our Frances 34.  The cool box also has a small freezer compartment, essential for the ice at 'sundowners'.  We have our fridge on 24/7 and use about 400 amp hours of battery capacity to cope with the demand.  We used a company called Frigomatic in Southampton to make the installation.

Don, have you committed your self to the fridge installation yet? I have retrofitted compressors to both my previous V34 and current M34 (very similar) and have ideas that might be of interest if it is not now too late.
