South Coast Social

Sunday, 28th February 2010

The South Coast Social has been held at the Sarisbury and District Community Centre, its full name, each year since the association was formed. This is entirely appropriate since the centre is just up the road from Warsash, where most of our boats were built, and within easy walking distance of the River Hamble. The community centre is far more spacious than the front door suggests, containing an attractive bar and several halls each equipped with its own kitchen.

If you have not been to one of our socials at Sarisbury before, the Google Earth image below will help you find the way. The main road is the old A27 between Swanwick and Locks Heath. The cricket pitch is quite obvious from the road and you need the road at its eastern edge, Barnes Lane. Then turn right and right again and follow the narrow road along the back of the cricket ground. The centre has its own limited parking but there is further free parking by the tennis courts.

  • 12:30 American style buffet luncheon in the hall.

Notes

Members and Guests are welcome at this event. If you are considering joining the association, this would be a good opportunity to meet other members and find out more about us.

Members are asked to make a food contribution, or to bring a raffle prize, but not both unless they are feeling generous!

It is always appreciated if members can assist with setting up the hall and clearing tables and chairs afterwards.

John Tyer, our South Coast Regional Organiser is in charge of the event and would like you to contact him (see below) if you intend to participate.

Olive Hathaway has, once again, kindly agreed to take charge of the catering arrangements.
